Graham at the Eden Project
Ahead of St. Piran's Day celebrations which will take place across the County tomorrow Cornwall's Liberal Democrat MEP, Graham Watson, comments how the day highlights the unique culture, heritage, language and aspirations of the County and shows Cornwall at its best, and as a great place for a holiday.
Mr Watson commented;
"I have been proud to serve the people of Cornwall in the European Parliament since 1999. Only last week I was in Cornwall for two days. I saw how EU money is helping everything from investment in major infrastructure to helping people through education and skills projects.
Cornwall has some amazing attractions including the ever popular Eden Project, which benefited from £50 million of EU Funding.
Tourism has an important role in Cornwall's economy, the County is blessed with some of the best beaches in Europe, and a truly breath taking coastline.
With the slide in the pound meaning foreign holidays are more expensive. I hope people will come to Cornwall instead and experience the great holidays the County can offer."
